    Continuing Tea Lessons for Chanoyu Study

    The Way of Tea is best savored by those who study tea preparation. Lessons emphasize the role of the guests as well as the host. You must be a member of the Urasenke Tea Ceremony Society to attend lessons. There is a sign up list for lessons. You must contact the Center to select the time appropriate that is convenient for your schedule and we will inform you when the classes have openings available. After you indicate your interest in a specific lesson time, there may be a waiting time for openings at the specific time chosen due to a limited number of spaces available.

  • Rurei Classes

    Standing Bow - Table and Chair Style

    The classes will be held on the first and third Fridays of the month. This is open to current students as well as the public. To attend, you must be a member of the Urasenke Chanoyu Tea Ceremony Society and have experience at the Usucha level as a minimum requirement.

    This course is designed for individuals with no prior experience in chanoyu who wish to begin their study of the Way of Tea. Through ten carefully structured lessons, students will be introduced to the essential forms and manners that serve as the foundation of tea practice.
