Introductory Course

10-Lesson Course for Beginners on Saturdays

This course is designed for individuals with no prior experience in chanoyu who wish to begin their study of the Way of Tea. Through ten carefully structured lessons, students will be introduced to the essential forms and manners that serve as the foundation of tea practice.

Note: *Sitting on knees (seiza) is required during the class.

Prerequisite: A Monthly Introductory Workshop is required to attend before taking the class.

Saturdays 2:00 pm (Duration: 2.5 ~ 3 hours)

Fees:

  • Course Fee: $400 per semester (10 weeks)

  • Membership Fee (first year): $25

  • Materials Fee: $38

No refundable, no transferable, no credit

Semester Schedule:

  • February to April

  • May to July

  • September to November

You will be able to take a maximum of 5 courses continuously. After graduation, you will be able to proceed to regular classes. Tea certificate will be permitted to apply when you reach the number of attending in a regular class.
