Membership in the Urasenke Tea Ceremony Society

Urasenke Tea Ceremony Society is the non-profit, support organization of the Urasenke Chanoyu Center. It is dedicated to the promotion and understanding of the Way of Tea through activities such as lecture and demonstrations and classes in tea procedures as are offered at the Urasenke Chanoyu Center. Contributions are important in maintaining reasonable fees for services to school groups as well as individuals.

Anyone wishing to promote the understanding of Chanoyu can become a member of the Urasenke Tea Ceremony Society. Contributions are tax deductible as permitted by law. It is important that all students become members of the Society, at least up to the certificate level at which they are studying tea. Non-students may donate at any level. Please give generously. Without these contributions, and a large subsidy from the Urasenke Foundation of Kyoto, we would not be able to continue our services.

Membership Categories

Upon availability, members of all categories are entitled to take tea classes and to attend tea events at the Center, as well as use the Center library. Membership is renewable annually.
